FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT

Overview

Business risks have the potential to cause a company to fail if they are not identified and mitigated, the management of financial risk is essential for all businesses. This monetary gamble exists in many structures, for instance, cash risk, ware risk, loan cost hazard, subsidizing and liquidity chance, and credit risk.

The course looks at how to assess and quantify financial risk as well as the sources of that risk. The risk management framework makes recommendations and justifies the use of tools and techniques to reduce risks in various circumstances. Financial derivatives are utilized in many of these strategies. As a result, you will investigate typical applications for credit default swaps, options, interest rate and currency swaps, and forwards. You will investigate the pricing of these derivatives, the external factors that influence their values, and the operational and counterparty risks that arise from their use.

Throughout the course, you will get to know how the material applies to real-world situations. The cases depend on genuine organisations presented to monetary gamble and show the gamble the board arrangements they apply. Oil and gas exploration and production, airlines, airports, agriculture, engineering, and retail are just a few of the industries represented.

Top Learning Objectives

You don’t need any accounting or finance experience because we’ll go over everything from the ground up. We will use Microsoft Excel in the course to analyse and create a Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, so you must have access to and a basic understanding of how to use it.

We will also learn how to create the following financial models from scratch using Microsoft Excel:

  • Discounted Cash Flow,
  • the Weighted Average Cost of Capital,
  • Price to Earnings,
  • Price to Revenue, and so on – all from scratch (assuming you have no or some accounting/finance knowledge).
